Duties of Committees under the Upper Grand ETFO Local Constitution

  • Article 7.6.1 – Committees are responsible to the Local Executive
  • Article 7.6.2 – Each committee shall operate in accordance with its respective Terms of Reference.


  • Article 6.2.1 states “There shall be the following standing committees:
    • Budget
    • Collective Bargaining
    • Elections
    • Equity & Human Rights
    • Labour & Political Action
    • Last Five
    • Local Constitution
    • Men’s
    • New Member
    • Occupational Health & Safety
    • Professional Learning
    • Public Relations & Goodwill
    • Resolutions
    • Status of Women”
  • Article 6.2.1 states “Ad hoc committees, task forces, and/or workgroups required to carry out the work of the Local may be established by the Executive or by general meetings, as necessary.”

General Responsibilities

  • Be responsible for the developing and reviewing of the terms of reference and for the ongoing work of the committee
  • Put forth a budget request to the Executive
  • Prepare a report to present at the Annual Meeting
